Prudential Retirement wanted to renovate their Hartford, CT, executive briefing center to create an environment that gave its executive staff and sales force more powerful and flexible tools when speaking with representatives from corporations, unions, and other organizations. Prudential asked us to design a comfortable and impressive environment that joined their brand positioning with a modern design aesthetic and state-of-the-art technology.

Prudential wanted an intimate but exciting way of communicating with customers, so Downstream created a coffee table with a twist—the Interactive Coffee Table. Visitors can navigate floor plans, see and edit their agenda for the visit, and browse images and info about Prudential’s history in a technologically advanced multiuser environment. Our programmers used ActionScript 3 on the Adobe Air runtime, the PureMVC framework to keep the code well structured, and Papervision3D for various 3D effects in the application.

Downstream affected several areas that would allow Prudential’s sales staff to carefully choreograph a customer visit yet also shift tactics quickly if the situation required it. We designed a “home” environment with subtle flexible digital canvases. Beyond this area, several interactive experiences demonstrate customer results, and a visit to the call center offers a dynamically rich immersive experience. Downstream oversaw the successful fabrication and installation of all graphics and technology. The new EBC has allowed Prudential to host more productive and efficient customer visits.
